filled myself with love

Before we give, we must have. If we have no love for ourselves, how do we give love to others? I find myself questioning myself (ok, I saw what’s wrong with that clause) these days, as my temper gets the better of me due to all the work I have to do. And also, I’m in need of a good bucket of fried chicken.

Yet people ask me, why am I insisting on writing every day? Why am I insisting on exercising every day? Because if I don’t share, if I don’t let go of the tension, I’ll go crazy.

By the way, a quick confession: there was this epic moment when I wrote this post and I forgot – HOW ON EARTH DO I CHANGE THE TEXT COLOUR? I was searching the entire navigation bar and getting upset. *shakes my head* I do sorely need a break from work. Can’t wait until the long weekend holiday next week!

I saw the prompt from Tre (A Cornered Gurl) and this quote immediately came to my mind. Oftentimes, I’m so preoccupied by whatever matters that vex me I lost sight of what I’m supposed to be doing – simply keeping the balance between my inner world and my environment, as cliche as it sounds.

It’s nice, then, to have this reaffirmation every now and then.

PS: I’ve been doing Scintillating Saturday Share for quite a while now, but I just don’t know why it never occurred me to do standalone piece like I do for other prompts. My mind is weird. *shrugs*

Tre’s ability to spread love and read your words carefully is infinite and I remember the very first time she commented on my short story, The Vending Machine. Her comment filled me with confidence that I never had before in my writing and I have been reading her for as long as I can remember, which is from 2016 (the year I joined Medium).

Jernee is also featured in her writing frequently and I also grew to love Tre’s little lady. Naturally, when I saw this prompt, I just could not resist. I must say, the words flood out of me faster than Niagara Falls.
