They told her she would never make it, that it was nothing more than a pipe dream.
Subconsciously, she started to fence herself into a comfort zone, finding excuses for being unable to fulfil her dreams.
And now, she can only watch from behind her fence as her peers move inexorably toward their goals, leaving her behind.
