Orchard Road is deserted.
Prime shopping area. Strangely quiet. Singaporeans love shopping but there is hardly a crowd.
I stroll, saunter even, down the road. No one push past me or hurry me along. And the ubiquitous ice-cream pushcarts and street buskers which give Orchard Road its hustle and bustle are hardly around.
This is quite possibly my most elegant walk down the busiest area in town in my entire life.
Covid-19, catwalk enabler…
I find an early 1980s song echoing in my head as I walk around town.

Good one, Tien! It is surreal in some places and totally commonplace in others.
